Tonight’s an exciting night – it’s the night before the first stop in my Virtual Book Mini-tour. I’ve been busy preparing for the tour over the weekend. There are 3 stops on this tour and, as I’ve said, it kicks off tomorrow.
The stops are quite diverse. I’m going from an unusual MySpace blog (it’s devoted to re-connecting former pen pals who met as teenage fans of the pop group, the Bay City Rollers) to a live radio show that features interviews with authors and artists then on to a blog that specialises in interviews with Print On Demand authors. What do they all have in common? Nothing really, except that they’ve each agreed to chat with me about my book, ‘Hitler and Mars Bars’.
My first stop is at www.myspace.com/bcrpenpalreunion tomorrow (Tuesday). The blog is placed on the right side of the MySpace page. Click on it and you will be able to read my chat with the blog owner, Amy. Amongst many other interests, she’s a Bay City Rollers and Rosetta Stone fan and set up her MySpace page and an MSN group to get former pen pals, who met as fans of the bands, back in touch with each other. When she visited Britain for the first time this spring, she came to stay with my husband and I for a couple days. Later that week I met up with her in Edinburgh and, with my limited knowledge of the city, I showed her the sights. There were record cold temperatures that weekend for April and when the wind blew through Edinburgh Castle I could close my eyes and imagine I was in Toronto in February. Thankfully temperature isn’t a factor in online visits!
My stop at Amy’s blog will be a departure from her usual postings but she is game to have me visit her blog. She has a few questions for me about the novel and my writing in general. Hope you’ll be able to join us tomorrow. Please feel free to ask questions or make comments and I will reply.
See you in Indianapolis tomorrow!
